Divine push in right direction

I'm beyond positive that it's my goddess' doing, this turn about which has led me to being forced into being more relaxed. I get I'm stubborn and don't like to listen much... especially when I'm super stressed due to the holiday chaos.

Both Nathana and Krishna have been insisting that I need to go slow, take my time with things... hold back my temper until I've a better understanding of a situation.

I was hearing them... but applying their suggestion has been near impossible. Oddly enough... when the pain in my side started - my mood mellowed. I still get frustrated by things, just not provoked to vocalize my issues as easily. My patience has even seemed to increase... even my habits seem to be molding to better help in 'taking things easy'. Of course, with my side being so sore - it's more than necessary, but I've found myself growing more and more okay with this.

*smiles* I still have a lot to work on - with my personal issues, temper and such...

I just think this helpful (while somewhat painful) reprieve is nice... oddly enough.

encountering an FPS gamer in real life :P

NOTE: May be offensive to people, especially in this comm. I've come across countless, countless gamers like this guy in-game (and gotta admit, they can be entertaining!) and have always wondered what it may be like if they treated the world like a game :X Don't get too riled up and just have a little giggle~

Spoiler? )
Which Shadow/Dark Link did y'all like best? Why?

Also, if you had to pick one of the following color schemes for the next appearance of Shadow/Dark Link...which one would you pick? XD

Personally, I'm partial to the one with black hair and red eyes.

Pick a Shadow. Any Shadow... )

Thought this would be a fun discussion. (And a good way of getting some fan insight, fufufufufu...)

Also...another piece of Courage's Curse art for you to contemplate while I slowly work at the prologue...so...much...screentone...X_x *etching at oldschool screentone with exact-o knife*

It's that blonde chick again. )

I should really stop getting so side-tracked with other arts and just sit down and finish the prologue. XD

Left 4 Dead: Now in Glorious 8-Bit

  • Jan. 5th, 2010 at 6:06 PM
What could be better than some zombie-brain-bashing fun with Left 4 Dead? How about some L4D zombie-brain-bashing in glorious retro 8-bit? Better yet, how about playing it for free?

Pixel Force: Left 4 Dead – a “retro de-make of Valve’s hit zombie killing masterpiece” that offers two difficulty levels and co-op – is now available to download from Eric Ruth Games. It’s worth a download for the kick-ass 8-bit soundtrack alone.

Video games are made by the devil.

  • Jan. 5th, 2010 at 3:43 PM
"We have the only house in our neighborhood with no video games. My son has explained to me many times how this makes us freakish aliens from space.

I truly believe that video games were created by Satan to turn otherwise normal children into his drooling, glassy-eyed stooges. After my son plays them at his friends’ houses, he comes home irritable and testy for the rest of the day.

Even though his skin is normally mocha-colored, after a day spent in a darkened room with a controller in his hand, he comes home with a sickly pallor."

thoughts?

Personally, I think she is afraid of something she doesn't understand. She didn't even give it a chance. She's assuming that every kid who plays video games will end up being involved in a 911 "my kid won't go to bed" phone call. Isn't that parenting? To make your children go to bed at bedtime? I don't know, maybe I'm all wrong.

Best / Worst Side Quests?

  • Jan. 5th, 2010 at 4:10 PM
Hi all!

What are the best / worst / most memorable side quests you have played in any game?

I am trying to figure out what people like or dislike about side quests in games (particularly action games like Assassin's Creed 2, Batman Arkham Asylum, Uncharted 2 etc.). What kind of reward do you want from a side quest (more narrative, experience, stuff, outfits?)? How big / long / difficult should they be?

Personally I think side quests can deepen my gaming experience, like the chain of quests you have to do to unlock Altair's outift in AC2. Or even finding all the feathers in order to get the cape (which is purely decorative, right?)

Voie / Way

Way
what is this road that separates us
across which I hold out the hand of my thoughts
a flower is written at the end of each finger
and the end of the road is a flower which walks with you
—Tristan Tzara

Voie
quel est ce chemin qui nous sépare
à travers lequel je tends la main de ma pensée
une fleur est écrite au bout de chaque doigt
et la bout du chemin est une fleur qui marche avec toi

Question!

  • Jan. 5th, 2010 at 7:15 AM
Is this a reliable site to learn how to write someone's name for a tattoo? I can't seem to find any other website to compare. I found a lot that look similar, but none that are close enough for direct comparison to make sure I am doing it right.

Sequel first

  • Jan. 5th, 2010 at 1:16 AM
No, this isn't about the trope where a company releases the latest installment of a franchise in another country rather than releasing the original installment. But it's closely related.

Namely, did you get into a particular series by playing the sequel/s first, rather than the first game?

As an example, Personal thoughts. )
